WE ARE CYBORG

Mitja Kötter is a Berlin-based visual artist exploring human identity in a technological world.

After studying philosophy in Berlin and spending thirteen years working in the Formula One environment, he discovered discarded motherboards in an attic. They became the starting point for WE ARE CYBORG.

Its first chapter, FACES, brings together eleven people and eleven motherboards. His own portraits and macro photographs merge into hybrid faces, created without generative AI and printed directly onto glass.

Building on Cyborg – What’s Your Level?, featured on ZEISS Lenspires, the next chapters extend the project onto bodies and into urban space. In BODY — Second Skin, photographs of nature reclaiming motherboards are projected onto the human body. In CITY, the faces enter public space through architectural projections.
